About Us

The Mars Society Argentina (TMSA) is a non-profit civil association that seeks to attract the general public to the world of astronomy, especially to the wonders offered by Mars planet, along with the future possibility of the man arriving there and establish a permanent base. It also encourages the realization of projects of all kinds that can contribute to the exploration and research of that planet, always bearing in mind that most of the ideas that emerge from space exploration are applicable here on earth.

TMSA was founded in 2018 as the official chapter in Argentina of the NGO “The Mars Society” (TMS), of the United States and founded by Robert Zubrin, which is the largest organization in the world dedicated to the exploration and establishment of the human being on Mars. TMS has two Mars-like research stations where Martian life simulations are carried out: Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) in the Utah desert, United States, and Flashline Mars Arctic Research Station (FMARS) in Devon Island, Canada. In these stations, it welcomes students and professionals from all over the world to carry out their research projects. TMS organizes annually the event “Annual International Mars Society Convention”, where members of the association and other interested researchers are invited to exhibit and discuss topics related to aerospace exploration.

We invite you to see the talk given by our director Gabriel Caballero, held within the inauguration of TMSA, in which he tells us about his experience in MDRS and his aspirations for this new chapter.
